The easiest way is to replace the entire unit, BUT...
If you enjoy working on your car, the bulbs are indeed accessible and can be purchased at any auto store. That said, cleaning up the contact strip takes a deft hand, as does re-assembling the unit with the gasket correctly positioned.
I went ahead and replaced my entire unit anyway as the new one is brighter and thus, better looking.
In the process, I found that someone had removed several of the screws holding the original unit together. This allowed moisture to get into the unit, hastening the corrosion of the contact strip/bulb connection. The hardest part was prying the unit out of the opening without damaging the lens.
I did crack mine, but have glued it together and polished it back to smooth. I have it as a spare.
I also had to refurbish the screw holes in the body, as they'd been stripped out previously.
