Post New owner of #36
I am the new owner of #36. It is coming with the radio not working. It seems the theft code got lost along the way. Has anyone replaced the radio? Any thoughts are welcome.

Thinking about swapping out the Mangusta badge with a Bigua that I got at DeTomaso for the fiftieth anaversery. I am sure that will meet with some resistance here.

I thought they came with them. What did the Mangusta come with?

Sorry, I kept meaning to respond, what kind of radio did you put in?

Went down to check on my house on the cape, and got into the Mangusta. Battery was dead. I think that this means that the driver’s side window issue is the door handle. I tried charging the battery, but the ani-theft keeps trying to kick in and the charger then kicks out. So, I tried to hookup the charger to the battery, man what a poor design that is for when you want to charge the battery only with the ground cable disconnected. I will try the car after the storm.

Another thing I noticed was that the roto top is not all the way up, I am guessing this because I can place my finger between the back glass and the rubber seal (see attachment). I can’t tell from the wire diagram if there is a switch that would keep the interior lights on for that, the way that it seems there is one for the door, hence my dead battery.

Other interesting things about #36. I do not have a ashtray, but only a small box area. The center console does not have an additional power outlet like it states in the owner’s manual. There seems to be a missing piece of molding on the left of the driver’s foot well, as I can see were there should be something screwed there, and you can see down to the fiberglass or honeycomb. Also the trunk does not seem to be finished. The carpet is only in a couple of places, and I thought there were some mounts for the top to lay on. I wonder if the low number indicates that this was early in the production, as it seems that in several places, the panels are not fitting together well and in a couple of spots you can see where someone cut them to fit, like the front where the battery access panel is.
Lastly, the qvale logo is just glued on, and there is a hole that is about 1 inch to the right that has a plastic plug in it.(See attachment) I am guessing that is where the deTomaso script would have gone, but then who knows.
