Driver side door Window replacement - Problems
I just finished installing the new driver side door window after cleaning all the old smashed glass out from inside the door. I think since the window broke while it was inside the door caused the micro switch to break as well. I think this because it doesn't appear to make any contact & the door will not drop when handle is opened & the auto window open does not function either. Please let me know if this could be caused by something else as I am ordering an expensive new micro-switch today. Burt of course to make matters worse I have tried to use the car last night & this morn (after the new window install) without the micro switch. Hence I must leave the driver side window down about 3" to get in & out of the door Or crawl out of the passenger side door. Of course this morn at work I decided to instead of leaving the window down to close the door, roll back up the window & then crawl out the passenger side in case of rain. Only to have my driver side window smash all over me when I closed the door with the window down about 3" to clear the roof etc... I am so bum'd I can't afford to keep replacing the window & having all these reoccurring problems... Any help? anyone? I'm form North Eastern Pennsylvania.
I also heard when I order the 1st replacement window last week it was the last one in stock. So this should make things even more interesting.
HELP!?!

Re: Driver side door Window replacement - Problems
If the new window broke when you closed the door, it sounds like it was not installed properly. Just because it was rolled down a little shouldn't cause it to break, I have closed my door many times with the window down a few inches, & no problems. Of course I don't slam it with all my might, but I'm guessing some kind of support was not in place on yours.

Re: Driver side door Window replacement - Problems
We have more door glass in stock now so its not a supply issue anymore. The glass may have broken because the window upper corner may have touched the roto top.I have seen some cars with the window out of adjustment and they "skimmed" the rototop upon closing "just sayin"
