User "179" - Supercharged Motor
Hi, I understand you you sold #179. Very nice... It was a beautiful car... Is the new owner on the forum?
But to the point... Do you still have the supercharged motor that was optional? What kind of supercharger (centrifugal/positive displacement) is it etc...? It'd like to get a pic and the basic run down of the motor... What kind of boost is it set up for? what the compression ration detuned for the supercharger & if so whats is it? Does the car allow for an intercooler/aftercooler water to water or only air to air type?
I really like the new car but notice until you get to about 3K rpm on the tach you don't have a whole lot of power... This is where a supercharger really makes these DOHC 4V mod motor's shine... I current have a supercharged Mercury Marauder that uses a 4.6L DOHC is about 700RWHP... So I know what these motor can do...

Re: User "179" - Supercharged Motor
The motor was built by Sean Highland motor sports in Canada, it has a Vortex pump, motor has many internal mods but not sure exactly what was done.We did a lot of testing for homologation(Feds) in 2001 with his engines.
Current owner of #179 is located in SF bay area, he has not registered so far.

Re: User "179" - Supercharged Motor
SO it's a "Vortec" supercharger... I didn't think a centrifical supercharge would fit on the Mangusta... I figured it was gonna be a positive displacement type... can you check the tag on top of the supercharger compressor... I'm curios if it is an "S-trim" or a "T-trim"
I am interested in the motor... perhaps you can link a photo or 2... Is there a serial # from Sean on it or anything? perhaps I could him with such a # & get the specific's of the motor from him...

Re: User "179" - Supercharged Motor
I am the 3rd owner of 179 as of this past Thursday. The 2nd owner purchased the car in late 2010 and only put 700 miles on the car during his ownership.
I'm curious and would love to learn more about the special features of this buggy.
Gratefully yours,
Brent McDonald
