Need an exhaust
I don't wanna sound just like the Shelby GT500 right next to me. What're my options? What was the borla deal? What about the custom exhausts spoken of earlier?

Re: Need an exhaust
Any Idea what season these custom exhaust may become available? The non cost effective exhaust, how did they sound? Was there anything beneficial about them?

Re: Need an exhaust
Just take some measurements of the cans that you have on now, & find something similar from some of the high end muffler manufactures & have a shop make your own. I'd stick to SS, my personal faves for sound, performance, looks, etc. are Borla & Magnaflow.
Take some pics & video & post them up after you have it installed.

Re: Need an exhaust
I've installed a set of Resonators in place of the mufflers (PYPES M-80 stainless steel). They sound really nice, got a nice rumble at idle and at high RPM. It has a very nice roar, but it does have a loud droan in the interior when engine RPM is between 1,500 to 2,000. It doesn't bother me though, I like it and it does not sound like a mustang. I will try to take pictures and video, then I'll post it.

Re: Need an exhaust
Try to contact Stainless Works. I have had them build custom 3" exhaust system for 2 of my other cars now & they do it right... One of the other cars is an 04 Mercury Maruader which uses nearly the exact same engine only crack powdered rods & none forged pistons (stock) but still the 4.6L DOHC. they made me a full 3" SS exhaust including 4" high flow cats. They also make down pipes which are the best option for the 4.6L DOHC (IMO)

Here is what I've had installed (PYPES M-80) stainless steel. They have a very nice tone and rumble at high RPM's.
