If you read my previous posts, I had a great time and met some very nice people. However, over the last week, this club's Board of Directors has created a coup and kicked out the voted in President that was elected by it's members. They back tracked when it was brought up all of the by-laws that they broke, saying they were doing this all of the time. This is a group of bullies that want to run the club "the old way". I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT QVALE OWNERS JOIN THIS CLUB. I am hoping I can get my money back, but I doubt it.

Wow..thats a shock...The Folks here on the East coast are stellar and extremely accepting, must be a regional thing.

We joined POCA and have really enjoyed the group here in NE Florida. I am not sure what all went on with the coup and ousting of Michael Shortt, the President and some of the board members. I do know some of the locals had dropped their membership because of him. I have talked to him on FB and he didn't seem to be the ogre they described. As it is, we are keeping our membership as we do like the people we have met. Not sure if we will join Shortt's new club Ciao DeTomasso but will consider it. We like that he had started having some big events on the east coast where everything else seemed to have been on the left coast previously.

There is nothing on the POCA website for the East Coast Rally. It is my understanding that they are having nothing to do with this. Michael Shortt is still planning on having the rally of De Tomaso owners. You can contact him directly for details: michaelsavga@gmail.com

I posted the events as they were stated on the POCA website before the big split. The email I have for Shortt is michael@michaelshortt.com. As far as I know, the event is still on. We won't be going as it occurs just days before we head out on another trip and my husband can't miss that much time from the office.

We haven't met the Martin's but think they would be members of the same POCA chapter we joined as we are in Jacksonville and the club president lives just outside Daytona. Hopefully we will see them at an event sometime soon.
