Info on Car Stereo configuration
after my OEM Nakamichi head unit broke, I replaced it with an after-market one with a bit more power.
i've notice that the Stock Nakamichi doors speakers are showing their age and bottoming out at time. I've sent for a new set of component speakers.
What I have noticed is there appears to be speakers in the rear-seat area door panels? I can hear bass or sub-bass notes coming out the area, but after pulling off the plastic speaker grille, there wasn't a speaker behind it. I have also noticed when increasing the volume, whatever speaker is back there is also bottoming out.
Can anyone share what may be back in the rear-seat area? Is it removable fairly easy? I am also considering, if possible, disabling the speakers which may be in that rear area.
any ideas/leads would be appreciated

Re: Info on Car Stereo configuration
I recently replaced my entire stereo system and went pretty high end. I wanted to be able to play it LOUD with the top down. The stock system comes up a bit short. That said....all you would need to do is add a amp/Subwoofer. You could then take relieve your other speakers from having to play frequencies below 100hz. They would easily play much louder if they did not have to play low bass. I had a custom subwoofer made that consumes the area in the back seat drivers side.....where NOBODY will ever sit. It looks fantastic. I'll try to post a picture soon. If you want more details PM me.

I have a Rubicon Angina Amp under the driver side back seat. Is that stock? I am the first registered owner. But the car did kick around for 17,000 miles before I got it.
