mystery symtomes
couldn't start up #125 after storage. Thought it was the fuel pump. Bench test showed it to be OK. Now it starts but runs rich. Will stall in not revved high.
Also: 1. Cooling fan comes on when the key is turned to on (A/C is set to off). 2. the odometer reads all dashes.
All was fine when I put it in storage. For the first time, I disconnected the battery for storage.
Have replaced the battery.
Anybody else have these symptoms?

Re: mystery symtomes - up date
There is no fuel pressure at the port. Must mean one or more injectors is stuck open. Correct?

Can you pull any codes from the OBD connector.?? sounds like it lost its monitor marbles in the ECU.

Re: mystery symtomes
John,
We have an error indication but no power to the OBD. We are working on that. Will let you know the results when we have them.
Do you think all these conditions could be related to the ECU? Have you seen this before?

John,
Will check the grounds Not sure which module you are referring to as the "ECU". The parts manual shows a power control module (PCM) and a CCRM which seems to control the cooling fans power to the PCM and other things. Can't find anything designated as ECU.

Re: mystery symtomes
Sorry, it is the PCM which is located behind the passenger side kick panel. Force of habit i call it a ECU.

Re: mystery symtomes
John,
If it is the PCM, that is a job for a Ford dealer. As I understand it the PCM has to be flashed while in the car and that con only be done by a Ford dealer. Is this correct?

Re: mystery symtomes
Yes, that is correct....your car is not supercharged .??
if it is, the reflash from ford will wipeout out your Supercharge tune..and you will have to get it retuned at a performance shop/dyno.

Re: mystery symtomes
John,
The OBD has power but does not give any data or codes. Is this another indication of ECU issues? Could it be something else?
The car is not supercharged. It is all stock but the radio.
You indicated a "reflash". Is this a likely cure, or is it replace and flash the new one?
