New Arrival

Mangusta 183 was delivered from California on 13 July 2014 to Cincinnati, Ohio (work location). Then drove this fabulous car home to Bradenton, Florida (not quite 1000 miles). What a joy to drive! Our first formal outing will be on 27 September for the annual Cruise to the Ringling Museum. Those of you in the area might want to check it out.
It's sponsored by Tampa Wax Slingers. Would love to see another Mangusta there!

No. 102 is back on the road. 1000 mile trip from Chicago to Richmond, VA
Working out the few bugs since it had not been driven in a while, increased the mileage
from 7418 to 9850 in the last month. Love to hear from owners on the east coast, maybe
put together a gathering?

On the same page as you, re: a gathering (altho' I'm not exactly on the east coast). I have no idea who is where, but Charleston, SC appears to be about half-way from here to Richmond.

Deb
Charleston/ Savannah is a great area, often use for car gatherings
great area for eating, drinking and driving, but not at the same time!
I wonder if we could put together a mailing list and contact people
directly. John could maybe help with this.
enjoy your car

I have the good fortune to live about 30 minutes from John, and I had actually about two months ago, mentioned to John about doing an east coast Mangusta reunion. I had mentioned having it here in Greenville SC, or someplace like Myrtle Beach or Charleston. I would be more than happy to help organize the event if we have enough interest, especially since I live in SC. Let's hear from everyone as to their interest in such an event, and if we should tie it in with another event like at the same time as a car show.

Well, it seems we have 4 who are interested! That's a start. John said we could do a mass email, but I'm not sure how that's done. How far away should we include? Or should we email everyone? I have no idea where any others are located. Is there a high/off season in Charleston? (I'm a Gulf Coast Floridian, what do I know!) I presume a weekend would be best, altho' we could poll those who are interested. I like the idea of tying it in with a car show ... what a commotion when the Mangusta Posse arrives!

I'm in!

Hey Deb,

I had suggested to John that we do this a few months ago, but never followed up. I had thought about a few places:

Greenville SC - this is where I live, and it is 30 minutes from John's house. Greenville is about the neatest "little city" you will find. Google Greenville and you will see some of what I mean with Main Street, the free trolley rides, Falls Park, etc. I love driving my Mangusta down main street and the looks from people, just think if we did a parade of Mangustas! I am sure we could get permission to use some parking lot on Main street for a couple of hours to do a "show and tell" cruise in. I would be happy to coordinate everything on this end. Greenville is very walkable, and has several very nice hotels on main (Hyatt, Weston Poinsett, a Hampton Inn& Suites that is river front and just upstream from Falls Park, and a Courtyard by Marriott where they set up an outside ice skating rink from Thanksgiving through mid Jan.

Myrtle Beach SC - Everybody has at least heard of it if not been there. They have a "Run to the Sun" festival next March 19-21, and I bet they would love a group of Mangustas to come, and the work for a car show is already done. It is billed as "The Largest Street Rodders Car & Truck Show in South Carolina. Hundreds of Classic Cars Cruise to Myrtle Beach for a Weekend Long Event. Mark your 2015 Calendar, Don't Miss a Great Car Show." It is about 90 minutes north of Charleston, about 4-1/2 hours from John and me.

And of course, Charleston. Charleston is a great historic city, but I don't know about finding a venue for us. Parking is a nightmare there. This seems to be what everyone is talking about, but I don't think it is too late to change to another place, what do you think?
