Post Oil leakage from steering gear case
At the bellows of the steering gear case some hydraulic oil is leaking. I have learned that dismantling and exchanging some seals of that steering gear case is a rather complicated affair and should be handed over to specialist.
Thus my idea it might give sense to purchase a new or second hand steering gear. Who manufactured that steering gear box built into the Mangusta or which other cars are using the same type?

Does anbody know and give some piece of advice to solve the leaking problem?

Thanks
Rolf (Germany)

I have the same question, leaking power steering hydraulic fluid: who manufactured that steering gear box built into the Mangusta? Compared to Ford Mustang, but not compatible.

Custom made for Qvale.

EDIT: 7/19/13
John has located some full racks in the inventory! He has tie rod boot kits as well See his response in the Swap meet forum.

Post Re: Oil leakage from steering gear case
John offered me a new steering box at a reasonable price, however the shipping cost to Germany and clearing costs on my side made me hesitating and investigating a bit more closely into the problem with my car. I found that the oil leakage on one side was really minor, however the rubber bellow had a cut on the bottom side and some drops were coming out this way. I had checked all the numbers on the power steering and found that this was not leading to a certain conventional system for a common car, but was something special. Interestingly I found one number from my car steering in the web relating to the fitting rubber bellows, exactly relating to a Turkish company who produces such bellows for the stearing rack of a Turkish assembled Fiat type, called Tofas, from around the turn of the century. This car is no longer built, however it was very popular in Turkey and I was able to purchase the bellows, different for right and left at around $ 5,- in the nearest car shop. The left side part has the number 36020028, trade mark is MASTER, production date 2010, company name Kaucuk Sanayii ve Ticaret A.S. Izmir, Turkey. I would not be surprised to learn that complete steering system might possibly be the same, at least the source Italy is suspicious. In autumn I will be in Turkey again and perhaps can find out.

I have the same problem: Just returned from a 3,000 mile trip (had the car shipped to NY and participated at the North American Rally = fantastic, the drove from Portland Maine home to West Palm Beach.
Luckily, only at the end of the trip the steering box started making familiar noises. I had it already 2x repaired - now I am ordering a new one!

For our German friend: I am from Austria - live here many years - and ship frequently car parts home. Never had any problems.
I owe car #133 and # 280 (Automatic).
#280 had major renovation since the seller represented the car incorrectly. (Has new crate engine, total repaint, new dashboard, new front windshield, replaced rubber seals - still squeaks however, new tires. Invested more than $40,000)

Love them both! (Not John - the cars :) )
... and thank again John for all his help! -- THANKS
