John,

The engine turns over like a champ, but it doesn't start. I don't smell any gas. The fuse in the engine compartment fuse box is good. I pressed the fuel pump shut off switch. I disconnected the fuel line at the coupling coming off the gas tank. No fuel comes out when the engine cranks. Is there another fuse or relay someplace that is not in the owners manual?

Thanks,
Ken

Sounds like a fuel pump issue..been seeing a few of those lately. Its very important to store car with at least half tank of fuel.

Let me know if you need one.

John,

The cover off.
Now, hoe do I get the pump out. The Mustang manual shows a completely different set up, no help there. Does it twist to unlock it? Looks like there is at least one tab that may be involved. Don't want to force anything.

How much is the replacement? Is it the whole assembly or just the fuel pump?

Ken,

I just had to replace the fuel pump in #237. As I remember, the bracket that holds it in is just a plastic frame that has a small lip that clips over the top of the unit, and you just spread those apart enough to slide the pump straight up. The replacements from John are the entire unit including the cover. I had the same problem, it would turn over but not fire at all. As soon as I replaced the pump it fired right up. When I talked to John about mine, he mentioned to me to not let the tank get less than 1/4 full as the gas in the tank is what cools the pump.

Best of luck!
Bill
