 Qvale Mangusta Production Figures..To clear the confusion Over the years I have seen many production numbers pop up on various sites and ebay quotes..to clear the air, below is an accurate listing of "QVALE" produced Mangusta vehicles.
Now keep in mind, although the last Qvale produced vin# is #284, MG Rover did produce about 8 cars with the Qvale badges on them...these cars are NOT authorized Qvale production vehicles as they were built after we sold the Intellectual property right to MG. They were test bed cars for their crew to get up to speed on learning the production line facility, I'm sure they are as good as our original cars but Qvale did not build these 8 cars.
Sooooo....
Total Vin # production = 284 cars
Vin# 20 is first Qvale Mangusta...(the first 19 vin# were for Homologation and Testing) although vin#3 is here with me in San Francisco.
38 Cars produced for the European Market
226 Cars produced for the US Market (out of which 55 Automatic Transmission cars were built)
Total = 284
I have the build sheets (under Qvale production) for all the vehicles .

I have an almost related question regarding the Borla exhaust. I have heard that it was an option, but I'm not sure if it was just the stock oem muffler setup. If it was an option, do you know how many cars were sold with that option?? Grazie

I sold about 25 sets of Borla exhaust , we contracted with them in 2001 to make a custom exhaust, i have one on my car and works very well,with "chipping" the car works even better .
Currently we are looking at a local shop building a few prototype exhausts for us...if they work and sound good i'll offer them to the masses here on the forum...not sure of pricing yet.

Your posting about how many Mangustas were built and with what options was very interesting. I am the proud owner of #272, in Tigre Yellow with both the Borla exhaust and the 18" wheels (and the 5 speed). How many others equipped like that are out there? Could you please send me a copy of the build sheet for my car? Thanks,

We built a total of 22 yellow vehicles worldwide...
maybe you quoted the wrong vin # .
#272 is a red colored vehicle, please check you chassis number again..#274...??perhaps

Reading this thread begs me to ask how many Black, automatic, Borla exhaust configured cars were built? I have #241 and that is the set-up. I would also appreciate the build sheets if they are available. Lastly, you mentioned "chipping" in this thread, could you elaborate?
